International Parental Alienation Awareness Day .

Dear Peter,

In observance of International Parental Alienation Awareness Day, ACFC President Stephen Baskerville will be speaking at two special events organized to mark the day: in Iowa and Bermuda.

This Saturday, April 21, IowaFathers.com is organizing the Non-Custodial Parents Rally in Des Moines. This is an event of national importance, with the Iowa presidential caucuses coming up next year. Other speakers include Presidential candidate Dr. Mark Klein, Dick Woods of Fathers for Equal Rights, Pastor Ron Smith of Children Need Both Parents, Inc. The event is being held from noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines, 227 Walnut St., Des Moines, Iowa, 50309-2104. For more information, go to http://www.iowafathers.com/. ACFC especially wishes to thank Ken Richards and Bryan Iehl for making this event possible. For the recent Des Moines Register column co-authored by Bryan and Dr. Baskerville, click here.

Dr. Baskerville then travels to Bermuda for events organized by Edward Tavares of ChildWatch.

On April 24, he will speak at a special luncheon of the Hamilton Rotary Club. According to the HRC: "It is customary for the Hamilton Rotary Club speakers to receive television, radio and newspaper publicity. We also record the speaker’s presentation, which can be heard on Tuesday after the News on ZBM 1340 Radio at approximately 6.10pm."

On the evening of April 25 he will then speak at a forum at Bermuda College on "Social and Economic Benefits to Communities with Shared Parenting." Two members of Parliament -- the cabinet minister and shadow cabinet minister for social affairs -- will also attend and speak at this event.

For more information, please contact Edward Tavares at edwardt@ibl.bm.

Dr. Baskerville will focus on the current winner-take-all adversarial custody system as a major causative factor in the current epidemic of parental alienation. He will emphasize the solution to this problem is a shift to shared parenting to assure both parents a continued role in the lives of their children.
